Ethics and Sustainability in the Food Industry

Ethical considerations and sustainability are becoming increasingly important in the food industry. In this track, we address ethical issues such as fair trade, animal welfare, and ethical sourcing, as well as corporate social responsibility within the food sector.

Fair trade practices aim to create equitable relationships between producers in developing countries and consumers in developed countries. Discussions will center on the impact of fair trade on producers, consumers, and the environment.

Animal welfare is a growing concern, with consumers demanding more humane treatment of animals in food production. This track will explore the ethical dimensions of animal agriculture and alternative approaches to meat production.

Sustainability in the food industry encompasses responsible sourcing of ingredients, reducing environmental footprints, and minimizing food waste. Attendees will learn about sustainability initiatives within the food sector and the role of businesses in promoting sustainable practices.
